How Lilied Sinmulgwang's Rooster Comb-Derived Hyaluronic Acid Locks In Deep Hydration, and How to Maintain It

By Dr. Lee6 min read

The term water glow injection has become so common that a lot of similar treatments now share the name. Lilied Sinmulgwang stands apart because it bets everything on pure hyaluronic acid. No other actives are blended in, just hyaluronic acid's own moisture-holding power, concentrated.

People often hear that a treatment hydrates from the inside rather than just the surface, but it is worth understanding what that phrase actually means. Once you know how hyaluronic acid grabs onto water in the first place, it becomes much easier to judge whether a treatment like this is right for you.

What Is Lilied Sinmulgwang?

The Lilied line splits into several products depending on their ingredients, and the one called Sinmulgwang is a skin booster made from a single active, sodium hyaluronate. Other lines in the same family add polynucleotides for skin regeneration or brightening agents, but Sinmulgwang keeps its focus narrow, on the purity and refinement of the hyaluronic acid itself.

The treatment is delivered with a fine needle, injected in many small doses across the dermis rather than as one large deposit. The idea is to spread it evenly through the upper layers of skin so hydration builds across the whole face rather than pooling in one spot.

Multiple injection points might sound like it should hurt more, but there is not much reason to worry. A numbing cream is usually applied beforehand, and the needle itself is thin enough that most people describe it as a mild prickling sensation. The full-face session does not take particularly long either.

How Hyaluronic Acid Holds Water in the Skin

Hyaluronic acid already exists naturally in the dermis. The amount simply declines with age, and refilling that gap is the basic idea behind any skin booster.

The hyaluronic acid molecule is built to grab onto water extremely well, similar to how a sponge can soak up far more liquid than its own size would suggest. A single hyaluronic acid molecule is said to be able to attract and hold onto water molecules weighing hundreds of times its own mass.

So when hyaluronic acid is placed into the dermis, water gathers right along with it. That is the actual mechanism behind skin staying plump instead of drying out. It works at a completely different layer than simply applying a moisturizing cream to the surface.

Why Rooster Comb-Derived Hyaluronic Acid and Purification Matter

The hyaluronic acid used in Lilied Sinmulgwang comes from rooster combs. Most fillers and boosters on the market today rely on hyaluronic acid produced through microbial fermentation, while Lilied deliberately uses an animal-derived source instead.

With any animal-derived material, purity is the top priority. Leftover proteins or impurities in the raw material can trigger inflammation or allergic reactions once introduced into the body. That is why the source goes through multiple rounds of purification designed to filter out impurities and leave only clean hyaluronic acid behind.

This purification process repeats several stages of dissolving, filtering, settling, and drying the raw material. The more thorough the purification, the fewer impurities remain in the finished product, and that is associated with less swelling and irritation after treatment. Where the raw material originally came from matters less than how cleanly it has actually been refined.

Highly purified hyaluronic acid is also less likely to be recognized as a foreign substance by the body. Fewer impurities generally mean less chance of triggering a sensitive immune response. So the level of purification is not just a quality label, it is a practical indicator of how much swelling and irritation to expect after the procedure.

How Is Sinmulgwang Different From Standard Water Glow Injections?

A standard water glow injection usually refers to a blended product that combines hyaluronic acid with vitamins, amino acids, or brightening agents. The idea is to hit hydration, brightening, and elasticity all at once by layering multiple ingredients together.

Sinmulgwang takes the opposite approach. Instead of adding more ingredients, it pushes the purity and concentration of a single ingredient, hyaluronic acid, as high as possible. The simpler the formula, the less likely the body is to treat it as unfamiliar. For sensitive skin or anyone prone to reacting to added ingredients, that simplicity can actually be an advantage.

If brightening or regeneration is the priority, a blended formula may suit you better. But if pure hydration and relief from that tight, dehydrated feeling are what you are after, Sinmulgwang is the more direct route by design.

What Happens Beneath the Skin After Treatment

Right after the injection, the hyaluronic acid inside the dermis starts pulling in water, so the skin looks noticeably more hydrated almost immediately. That early change comes directly from hyaluronic acid binding with water.

A little later, a second process kicks in. The act of puncturing the dermis repeatedly with a fine needle registers as a small injury to the skin. Just like the body launches a healing response after any wound, this micro-level stimulation prompts fibroblasts in the dermis to gradually start producing collagen.

That gives Lilied Sinmulgwang two separate effects. One is the immediate hydration from hyaluronic acid filling the space directly, and the other is the slower buildup of firmness triggered by the needle stimulation. The first effect dominates in the early days, and the second effect takes over as time passes.

What Determines How Long Results Last

Hyaluronic acid does not stay in the body forever. Over time, enzymes gradually break it down into water and carbon dioxide. So a single Sinmulgwang session is not a permanent fix, and how long it lasts depends on a few factors.

  • Volume and concentration injected: The more hyaluronic acid placed into the dermis, the more water it can hold onto, which tends to extend how long the hydration lasts, simply because there is more surface area to bind water.
  • Individual breakdown rate: How fast the body's enzymes break down hyaluronic acid varies by age and skin condition. People with a faster metabolism may see the effect fade a bit sooner.
  • Sun exposure and lifestyle habits: UV exposure breaks down hyaluronic acid and collagen together in the skin. Whether you consistently wear sunscreen has a real effect on how long results hold up.
  • Treatment interval and repetition: Repeating the treatment every few weeks tends to keep hyaluronic acid levels in the skin more stable than a single session, since the moisture keeps building only when new hyaluronic acid is added faster than it breaks down.

Aftercare

The first few days after treatment are when the dermis is adjusting to the newly injected hyaluronic acid and the minor stimulation from the needle. A few habits during this window make a real difference.

  • Avoid saunas or hot baths on the day of treatment. Heat dilates blood vessels, which can prolong swelling and irritation.
  • Skip rubbing or massaging your face firmly for a few days. Physical pressure before the needle marks settle can slow down recovery.
  • Keep applying sunscreen consistently. It helps slow down how quickly the newly added hyaluronic acid breaks down under UV exposure.
  • Stay well hydrated. Your body's overall water balance needs to be stable for the hyaluronic acid in the dermis to fully do its job of holding onto moisture.

Mild swelling or slightly raised marks usually settle down naturally within a few days. Recovery speed varies from person to person, so it is worth giving it a little patience and keeping an eye on things.
